Interior Design

For me interior design is about creating a space that is visually stimulating whilst also functioning well. As I design I think about the customers journey, exploring the space through their eyes. It’s important to me as a designer that the space is unique but also has longevity & is not just trendy at that moment.

Normally I kick start a new project with a good chat with my client, this is when we get down to the nuts & bolts of their business, teasing out exactly what their business is. From this initial meeting we formulate a brief, then I get started. After doing quite a lot of research I create a ‘look & feel’ presentation before any drawings begin. This ensures that everyone is happy with the design direction prior to schematic design being developed.

Whilst designing the interior I will often be collecting ideas for the branding design, I love details & I feel that these small details are intrinsic to creating a successful space. By developing the Interior design & branding design in unison with each other you create a space that works cohesively.

Studio Apartment (120sqm), Broome Western Australia 2022 (in progress)

Currently working the development of a first floor studio apartment/guest house in the rural town of Broome in Western Australia. Some of the challenges of this build are the space limitations & also the very warm & tropical climate in this area of Australia.
